According to the market point, Cheil Bio's stock price fell 7.43 percent from the previous trading day to close at 4,795 won. The company, which operates the anti-inflammatory sterilizer business related to agricultural and livestock farms, posted an upper limit on Tuesday, when news of the first confirmed outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease was revealed. The day ended at 4,955 won, up 29.88 percent from the previous day. Since then, the market has skyrocketed until June 31, but fell on July 1. 

Daesung Microbi (036480), a manufacturer of animal medicines, also closed at 19,850 won, down 4.34 percent from the previous day. The company posted a decline for three consecutive days after rising 14.62 percent from the previous day on April 29.

The number of animal vaccine companies Iglove (044960) and Woojin V&G (018620) also fell 6.15 percent and 4.28 percent, respectively. These companies posted a 10 to 20 percent increase on the day when the confirmation of foot-and-mouth disease was first confirmed, but have seen a sharp decline since then.

The central vaccine (072020) also posted a 2.17 percent drop. On the other hand, Optipam (153710) increased 1.78 percent from the previous day.

It seems that the sales of the disease have intensified as expectations for beneficiaries continued after the outbreak of the disease for the first time since April last year.

The government issued a 48-hour moratorium on livestock farms, livestock officials and vehicles nationwide from 6 p.m. to 6 p.m. on July 31, while shutting down all cattle and pigs markets across the country for three weeks, and banning gatherings of cattle and pigs. 

"But as the spread of foot-and-mouth disease continued, the stock price of animal vaccine stocks skyrocketed at the end of last month," a stock industry insider said. "But as the spread of foot-and-mouth disease continued, the number of profit-taking stocks plunged."
